Inspiration for training:

For the past 18 semesters, I have taught a Yoga & Mindfulness Physical Education elective at my high school. What began as a small experiment has grown into one of the most popular courses on campus.

Over the years, this course has been thoughtfully refined through experience, student feedback, and a deep commitment to meeting the real emotional and developmental needs of young people. What I have witnessed has been nothing short of transformative.

Students leave this class with:

  • A broader toolkit of regulation strategies they can use during moments of stress and overwhelm

  • A deeper sense of self-awareness through intentional reflection and self-study

  • A daily space for embodied learning that strengthens their ability to navigate life with confidence, resilience, and compassion

After many years of teaching this course, I have found new joy and purpose in supporting other educators who feel called to bring similar programming to their own schools.

who is this for?

This training is designed for teachers, counselors, and school professionals who want to build a Yoga & Mindfulness elective—or integrate these practices into existing programs—in a way that is accessible, trauma-informed, and student-centered.

You do not need to be a certified yoga instructor to participate. This training focuses on how to structure and implement a successful course, not on mastering advanced yoga poses. Together, we explore:

  • Curriculum design and lesson planning

  • Classroom management and inclusive practices

  • Reflection prompts that foster insight and emotional literacy

  • Developmentally appropriate mindfulness and movement strategies

Each training cohort includes:

  • Opportunities for practice teaching

  • High-quality feedback and collaborative discussion

  • A comprehensive library of resources and lesson plans that are yours to keep forever

This training is rooted in real classroom experience and designed to empower educators to create spaces where students feel grounded, seen, and supported.

If you are passionate about student wellness and curious about bringing Yoga & Mindfulness into your school community, this program offers the structure, confidence, and tools to make that vision a reality.

Student Quotes:

  • “Yoga might be one of the most influential classes I’ve ever taken. Going into yoga I thought only physical aspects of me were going to change, but I was wrong. This class has really made me double think the content I consume, helped me better understand and regulate my emotions, and improved my overall appreciation for life.” -Cooper

  • “I have practiced yoga before, but I have found the consistency of our in-class practices to be incredibly beneficial. I feel much more energized and mentally prepared to face whatever challenges come my way. I also leave the practice with a greater compassion and understanding for myself and others. I am very excited to see my progress over the semester and to continue to put these skills into practice. Thank you!” -Lauren

  • “So far, the breathing techniques have resonated with me most. I realized that I have subconsciously been using my ocean's breath during stressful situations so knowing that I do this and knowing that it helps me feel better is really inspiring and calming.” -Katie

  • “I saw it as a good way to bring more movement and focus to my everyday life. And so far, I've loved it. All of those goals are being met everytime we meet, and after every practice I feel energized and more balanced. I can't wait for the rest of the semester and to work even more on meditation and physical movements.” -Reid

  • “Especially as an athlete, I tend to get on myself a lot.  To the point where I am just extremely pissed off at myself whether it is just from not performing the way I wanted to, or any number of reasons.  This can really do a number on my mental health.  So one thing I have already started to do in practicing non-harming personally, is breathing techniques.  Whenever I start to get on edge about something in my mind, I just practice some breathing techniques such as our ocean breath.”  -Caleb

  •  “I felt like I was actually connected to the earth, not just living on earth.” -Hunter
